Managing SNMP

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a standard protocol for receiving alarms, sending traps, and monitoring system status. SNMP draws upon system-defining information that is stored in hierarchically configured management information bases (MIBs).

To configure a system to use SNMP, see Configuring SNMP Settings.

For information on using the snmptable command to obtain information about the system, specifically information about alerts, hardware components, and volumes, see Obtaining System Information with snmptable.

You can download a copy of the MIB file from the Stratus Customer Service Portal at https://service.stratus.com. For instructions for downloading software, see Getting Help.
