Considerations When Using VLANs

ztC Endurance systems support the use of virtual local area networks (VLANs), with the following considerations:

• VLANs are supported only on production networks, not on the ztC Endurance management network.

  • When using VLANs, the ztC Endurance management network 1G connections should be on a different subnet from the production networks.

  • Production networks include the preconfigured 10G embedded network connected to vSwitch0 as well as any additional network connections you have added.

• You configure VLANs post-installation, using ESXi Host Client or vSphere Web Client.

• When you configure VLANs, do not modify the vSwitchZTC or any of its portgroups.

• You can configure VLANs either at the portgroup level or at an individual virtual machine's settings.
